Future advise for your child: teach them HTML. Here's why.
When you are 5 years old and living in France, the chances are big that you get your first English lesson at school. During that school period you will not only be taught English; at the age of 10 you can choose for another extra foreign language such as Italian, German or Spanish. Yes mes amies, France is making progress in becoming more open and international; the days that you where lost in a French desert if you did not speak Frenchie are behind us. For our children it is important to talk as many languages as they can; in that way children have all the opportunities for a great and fun career path. If we look at the future, there is still another language that is not being taught at schools.
It is called HTML and will be the interconnection language of the future. One day, and that day will start sooner then we think; all social media, websites, apps and payment platforms will be connected with each other. There is already a shortage of people that can talk and write HTML and other coded scriptings and the near future demands will increase. Look around you what is happening; big traditional companies have been bought by the geeks; the Googles and the Amazons of this world. So learning a digital language becomes almost essential for a solid future. Take your eight year old to a little web building course and if they like it, try some Java and HTML 5. Once they got the taste for it, they have another skill set that nobody thought of today. Your children will be grateful.
